What i'm up to
After many years doing many different jobs, but specially after trying my hand at coding, where i discovered i don't like coding nearly as much as i like reading, thinking and writing about it, i found out Technical Writing is a career one can have. I'm half-way through an internship at JetBrains learning about it and writing things about Kotlin. I'm enjoying it a lot, but it's only a six month (~ish) thing so i'll soon be looking for a job elsewhere.
When this year began, considering the state of the world and everything known to everyone, i decided to begin dropping us-american tech. It's a long process, and unfortunately not all of it is completely under my control, but i've already changed my email provider, cancelled the last few remaining subscriptions, closed social media accounts, etc.
Some things are very hard to leave, for example whatsapp, which has Latin America in a choke-hold and, if i want to be at all in touch with my family back home, i can't go without, or instagram, which seems to be my generation's preferred method of communication. I'm doing my best to steer family and friends in better directions but i also want them to like me, so i can't afford to go on these rants too often.
We have been getting really into CDs and old-school sharing music collections. My boyfriend and i recently merged our several hundred gigabytes of music collected over the last two decades and are thinking how to best make use of them. I'd love to hear experiences with digital music collections and good ways to peruse them, so feel free to send me an email.
