My friends' parents
I've been thinking a lot recently about my friends' parents. When you're in school and you go to your friend's house their parents are there. You see them all the time, they ask about you and about your family, they occasionally feed you and take you places. Some times you even spend several days together with them. And then maybe your school friendship ends, as school friendships do, or your friend moves out on their own, etc, and you never see their parents again, or at the very least you see them a lot more rarely.
Not long ago my best friend from school's dad had to have surgery and ever since I heard I have been wondering: does he know I care about him? Does he know I acknowledge the role he played in my life? Does he know I remember a bunch of times he and I watched TV together, while I waited for my friend to get ready to leave with me? Does he know I care about him? He should know, I think!
